Become a part of our Board of Directors

Dynamic Edmonton nonprofit looking for board members with an invested interest in older adults health and wellness. Our dedicated board of directors is excited to have individuals with a range of experiences to lead in governance, policy making and planning for ElderCare Edmonton!

ElderCare Edmonton is a community-based day program for seniors in Edmonton, operating out of 3 sites in the Greater Edmonton Area. Our programs offer therapeutic recreation combined with an opportunity for socialization and community access for those who attend, as well as respite and ongoing support for their caregivers.

We are looking to add a Board Member to our Board of Directors. The Board operates with a commitment to guiding the agency and to implement its vision: allowing seniors to have the quality of life that they desire in the community. Board members represent the organization publicly and demonstrate their commitment to our philosophy by working as an advocate and connector in the community. Our Board Members are informed about and contribute to high-level decisions regarding the organization’s policies, finances and strategic direction.

Currently, we are interested in speaking with anyone with a passion for and commitment to promoting the health and well-being of older adults living in the city. While prior board governance and not for profit experiences are assets, we seek individuals are who are passionate and committed to quality of life and care of older adults with needs in our community. As an ElderCare Edmonton Board Member, you bring expertise in fields of relevance to our organization, which could include non-profit management, policy development or education, among others.

Members of ElderCare’s Governance board are elected for a 3 year term, and total of 9 years. Board Members are expected to attend 10 meetings per year. If interested, please see the attached Board Volunteer Letter for further information and send your application with a letter of interest to
